Hockey Feels – 06-21-16

Rachel is back, and just in time, as one of the busiest weeks of the NHL calendar is at hand. Steven and Rachel discuss their picks (ie. who they want to win) for each NHL award to be handed out in Las Vegas on Wednesday. They also look at the NHL draft coming up on Friday, the various moves teams have made in advance of said draft, and we get a sneak preview of the NHL schedule for 2016-17.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are Stanley Cup Champions! With Rachel unavailable, Steven gives his thoughts on Pittsburgh’s rise to the top of the NHL this season, how Crosby proved he was still the best player on the planet and deserved Conn Smythe Trophy recipient (despite not scoring a goal in the Final), and how Martin Jones basically willed his San Jose Sharks teammates along when they were clearly spent by the end of these playoffs. We’ll be back later with a wrap-up episode, but for now, enjoy this short interlude!

Hockey Feels – 06-07-16

The Stanley Cup Final (not Finals) hasn’t quite gone as hoped for for Rachel and her temporary favourite team, the San Jose Sharks. Overpowered and outplayed, the Sharks are now down to the Pittsburgh Penguins three games to one, and they’ll have to stop Pittsburgh from winning their first ever Cup on home ice on Thursday night in order to survive. Other topics discussed in this episode: Awesomecon in Washington DC, musicals, and Finnish radio calls!
