Hockey Feels – 02-22-16

All Ghost Bear, all the time on this week’s edition of Hockey Feels, as Rachel is over the moon about the hotshot rookie defenceman Shayne Gostisbehere. And why not? A 15-game point streak (an NHL record for a rookie defenceman) and solid Calder Trophy talk for the saviour of the Flyers blueline is enough to get anyone excited. Steven and Rachel also talk about various news items of the week, including those items that they forgot about last week!

Hockey Feels – 02-15-16

For the second time in Hockey Feels history, Rachel and Steven are recording from a Doctor Who convention. This time, it’s the noisy lobby at Gallifrey One in Los Angeles, wherein James Bond films are briefly discussed before your two hosts speak glowingly about their two favourite rookies – Connor McDavid and Shayne Gostisbehere. One thing they completely forget to mention? The Dion Phaneuf trade that rocked the hockey world last week. Hey, it’s vacation…

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times… That’s how Steven felt in regards to Connor McDavid’s return to the Oilers lineup, which started amazingly, but came crashing to Earth with a pair of horrific losses over the weekend. Thankfully, writer Melissa Geschwind lightens the mood by dropping by to talk about Martin Brodeur, whose #30 will be retired by the Devils on February 9.
