It took a while, but John Tortorella is back in the NHL, taking over the rudder of the struggling Columbus Blue Jackets. Other teams not doing so well – the Ducks and the Penguins – occupy the discussion this week, but there is plenty to talk about regarding Rachel’s Flyers and Steven’s Oilers, as well, on another jam packed edition of Hockey Feels!

Hockey Feels – 10-19-15

Not a bad week for both the Flyers and Oilers this week, with backup goalie Michal Neuvirth leading Philly to back-to-back shutouts, and Connor McDavid and all his fellow #1 overall draft picks devouring Calgary on Hockey Night in Canada. Rachel and Steven also take time to discuss what teams are surprising them so far this season (both good and bad), and speculate on the NHL’s future expansion plans.

Hockey Feels – 10-12-15

The first weekend of the 2015-16 NHL season is in the books, and it has been a slow start for both Steven’s Oilers and Rachel’s Flyers, with neither team winning any of their opening games. But there were still thrills and spills to marvel about, and as a special bonus, Steven touches base with David Bastl of TSN 1050 Radio in Toronto to talk about how the Maple Leafs and the media are adjusting to lowered expectations for the rebuilding club.

It’s hockey season! Officially!
